Finally, I'm back at my computer. It's been a long day. Right now it's about 1:45am in ATL and I'm having a chat with a bottle of Beck's. I think I'm about to write a little sumpthin' to some beats I got in from my man Zinn Deadly out in Cali. I just put the pen to the pad yesterday (for the first time in 2003...ouch) and wrote a verse for DJ Pocket who's compilation is coming out soon.
Also, if someone could send me a Mello Melanin clone I would greatly appreciate it. No need to include all the options...the basic model with the Kung-Fu grip will do just fine. Wouldn't it be great if we could just send our clones to work for $$$ and while it was working we just did what we really wanted to do in life? For example, tonight my man Joel (who mastered the High Risk album as well as our new single "Bigguns") was in town with his group to perform at a rave party but I had to go to work. :-(
The Mello clone could have went to work for me and I could have been on the town playing and meeting new people...
I'm out... |

Okay it's been a while since our last blog post but don't think we haven't been working. The show last week was cool. We got paid which is always a plus and we filmed video for our site viewers to see. Good to know that we care right? The footage shoule be available for download soon under a new page on the site called "Video." Very fitting...
I'm going to be a bit more verbal on dis here blogger thang from now on. And we need our visitors to holla back at us on the message board as well. I was tellin' Jon Doe earlier today that I've turned over a new leaf to speak what's on my mind and only deal with the people that want to deal with us. No use trying to please everybody because it just can't be done and its a waste of time...
On some other updates about the Prophetix crew, we got our "Bigguns" 12-inch vinyl test pressings back. Its almost ready to hit the streets!!! We are still promoting it now though because that's what we do. Be on the look out for a flyer, or an email, or the review that coming out in Elemental Magazine next month. :-)
Also, a couple of other good things have happened. Earlier this month we sold a cd to a customer in France over the website. How exciting is that? Very! Last month we sold one to a customer in England! Overseas here we come!!! Any promoters or sponsors out there are welcomed to purchase our plane tickets to Europe, Africa, Austrialia, Asia, etc. You pick the continent and we'll go...
For those that would like a deeper experience of the inner workings of the industry, I've created an audiobook entitled "The Secrets to Getting Free Hiphop Advertising." Okay, I doing a little shameless self-promotion but isn't this what the website is for? It retails for $29.99 but we are selling it through the site for only $19.99. If you missed the $4.99 special too bad. The audiobook covers some of the techniques that we've used to get free advertisings in major publications, websites, ezines, etc. I recorded it with Lil Sci and we are both dropping gems on it for people who are really serious about getting ahead in the music industry but have very little capital to do so. You can click on the "Buy Music At CDstreet" link above to purchase it now.
I also published an article this month called "7 Tips for Getting Free Hiphop Advertising" on several websites. You can find it on our Message Board link if you are interested to see what I wrote. One last plug and I'm out...If you are an independent artists or label please sign up for my ezine "Free Pub 24-7" by sending an blank email to subscribefreepub247@sendfree.com..
That's it for now. I'll catch you tomorrow... |
