The Truth About The Rock The Bells Contest, ETC...
Current mood: amused Category: Music The TRUTH is that I'm drinking a Guiness Extra Stout and smoking on a Dutchie as I write this. I just had to get this one off my chest about that fixed and poorly managed contest sponsored by mp3.com. It's painfully obvious that Eddie Meeks had the lead at more that 70 percent the first few days of the contest. All others had percentages in the teens or lower. Then all of a sudden Dead-Neto had the lead at 40 percent to Eddie's 35 percent overnight!!! So we figured they were voting then deleting their cookies on the computer so they could keep voting over and over. Well, we decided to go that route as well and we put ourselves back on top by the end of the day. Then the "cookie cutters" took the lead again using the same techniques. To make a long story short, these guys basically cheated to victory.
They surely are not the first ones and I'm not knockin' their hustle because, hey, they wanted to win REALLY badly. The ill shit is that I think mp3.com WANTED them to win as well because on the last day of voting Eddie's score didn't move at all and we know many people who voted for him. It was almost as if mp3.com froze the votes for a few hours. In the end Eddie finished in 3rd place and 2 other contestants finished above him who obviously cheated.
But here is the part which conviced me that mp3.com basically fixed the numbers...one contestant had 0 percent the last day off voting and he ended up with 5 percent of the vote once the contest was over. Huh???? Obviously his number was superficial because he was at 0 percent almost 3 days. What kinda shit is that? At least they put us on 2 of the songs on the "mix" mp3 that they posted on their website and all of that krazy contest shit was FREE advertising for my crew. For those that took the time to vote for us, thanks for your support.
Anyway congrats to Dead-Neto because they really worked hard at undermining the voting system to win. All I can say is you reap what you sow...
Now on to more important and relevant happenings...
PROPHETIX is steady working hard on the "Catfish and Chips" album with London producer Wytfang. The joints are sounding good so far and we are recording on the Logic software which sounds sooooo good. When people hear it they are gonna shit their lil tighty whities cause the its just that hot. So for all of you fans that have been fiending for that "High Risk" flavor, please hold on just a lil while longer. It should be out in the fall of '06 and the tour will start shortly afterwards.
We'll keep you posted...
